Anger settled and I wanted to hate
Love pleaded, “Give me a chance”
The journey got long and I wanted to turn
Persistence said, “let’s keep moving”
I felt frail and any more couldn’t try
Strength spoke and said, “I am here”
And when darkness seemed to overpower
Light shone and all was bright
Fright and fear fought to reign
Courage flexed and asserted
In a sound of still wind
A call to be bold

Annointed
By your word to teach
And every sound enrich
They that thirst quench
The lost to recall
And lift that fall
May your life be a worthy prayer
Of no place or race
Of not time or season
No qualification or limitation
By you hand heal
And the weeping console
So mend the broken soul
Be hope to the child and the old
Family and Friend
Familiar and stranger
The winner and sinner
Your feet never to tire
To reach out be your desire
No ground shall you fear
Till its done never retire
Ever present Christ in the Eucharist
Be your sunrise hunger and Sunset thirst
Hail her daily on the rosary
Mary mother of the strong and faint
With Psalms your endless chant
As you ponder and wonder at His splendour
with the martyrs, prophets and the saints
On an on to the heavens gates
And just like Ignatius
Always pray to be generous
Live awareness and evaluation
And be strong in submission
For you we will always pray
For us never cease to pray
In His grace to always stay
In benediction day by day
And every sound enrich
They that thirst quench
The lost to recall
And lift that fall
May your life be a worthy prayer
Of no place or race
Of not time or season

The World Still Spun Round
Ground and paralyzed by fears
Apart torn and running on tears
Blind or ignorant it appears
Fireworks and dance coupled their cheers
Yet round the world still spun
As though I weren’t around
Slowly the smile did fade
And the stare distant and cold
So did the voice void and sad
As the heart to halt ground
Strolling astray I hit the road
For the other world in tales told
Always beyond the bend ahead
But at the market, they bought and sold
And none saw a soul trapped in the wild
On cliff edge by fate stood
Defeat is all my stature told
To wild thoughts and dreams sold
Soared and see sawed toward suicide
Too frail and finished to hold
But rise and set the sun held
Solace I found at a deserted shade
Maimed and coiled in the cold
Dust and darkness on me settled
Like a ruined city of the old
Ruled by rodents and strange wind
But rise and set the sun still held
In breath and time I shall stand
Stained faint of blood or friend
On a will bold to still hold
Deeper rooted and spirited to bend
On a mission back from near dead
The old far behind, the sight set ahead
Apart torn and running on tears
Blind or ignorant it appears
Fireworks and dance coupled their cheers
Yet round the world still spun
As though I weren’t around
Slowly the smile did fade
And the stare distant and cold
So did the voice void and sad
As the heart to halt ground
Strolling astray I hit the road

Shall I…
Shall I rise with you when you do
And lend you my hand should you fall
Shall you expect my voice when you call
And be the sweet memories of you recall
Shall I cheer you on when you try
And gaze to the sky as you fly
Shall I wipe your tears if you cry
And be the thought on which you rely
Shall I be your strength when you’re weak
And light you path if it falls dark
A home where to come back
When the sun scorches, shall I be your shade
Shall I shed you if it rains
And shelter your heart if in pain
Shall my node make you bold
And warm when its cold
Shall I make you complete
Even when you feel apart
Shall I be that which makes you be…
Shall I ….
And lend you my hand should you fall
Shall you expect my voice when you call
And be the sweet memories of you recall
Shall I cheer you on when you try

TELL THEM YOU ARE MINE
Send a word to those who smile
And they that read funny on email
So to they that gawk you a while
The kids, mates and the senile
Tell them you are mine
Remind them who every day text
And they that call in all pretext
Sending signals hoping you detect
And disregard courtesy or context
Tell them you are mine
And they who in secret admire
Too faint to voice their desire
Bank on darkness for them to acquire
Before they grind in to despair
Remind them that you are mine
And they that wag their egos and tongue
And claim to tame venomous fang
Ask if they’ve ever been stung
And sign that off with a bang
To echo that you’re mine
And when they promise the sun
And flashy their dollars shine
Remind them the season of rain
And how the basin cakes in pain
And thus you remain mine
Those who return and dare to remind
Counting and hoping something remained
And they too who wait by the side
If only the dream will come to end
They sleep they wake the dream remain
Now and forever, you remain all mine
And they that read funny on email
So to they that gawk you a while
The kids, mates and the senile
Tell them you are mine
Remind them who every day text
And they that call in all pretext
Sending signals hoping you detect

Departure
I have to fly away
A minute more I cant stay
My blood she did spray
When my heart she did break
Painful memories echo within
Acidic tears flow like a stream
Endless and not like a dream
This is but a painful extreme
Hatred frustration painted all over
Itching words ready to pounce
From this not sure to recover
Thus scramble to a land of peace
A tongue like the Zulu spear
Its my remains I want to spare
For at home I have no spare
Not that I fear
I cant stand the insult
For long did my heart halt
I have to clean that slot
Just incase another guest
New pastures I dare to capture
New heights I aspire to conquer
For my tether is seek to cut
On a free flow to send my gut
I have but to go
To the land even I don’t know
There must, the skies below
Where my honey and milk flow
A minute more I cant stay
My blood she did spray
When my heart she did break
Painful memories echo within
Acidic tears flow like a stream
Endless and not like a dream
This is but a painful extreme
Hatred frustration painted all over
Itching words ready to pounce
From this not sure to recover
Thus scramble to a land of peace
A tongue like the Zulu spear
Its my remains I want to spare
For at home I have no spare
Not that I fear

To the land even I don’t know

Where my honey and milk flow
So Still My Soul
The storm’s over and the sky clear
The hail torn leaves bleed no more
The ground no more sensitively slippery
So still my soul
The sun smilingly shines down
And butterflies colour the dawn
Every soul is up bouncing and running
So still my soul
Tides are low
Graceful ducks swim in a row
All is calm, that I know
So still my soul
Lie still and low my soul
Afresh the grain of love I will sow
Let the love bush re-grow
To still thee my soul
So still my soul
The hail torn leaves bleed no more
The ground no more sensitively slippery
So still my soul
The sun smilingly shines down
And butterflies colour the dawn
Every soul is up bouncing and running
So still my soul
Tides are low
Graceful ducks swim in a row
All is calm, that I know
So still my soul
Lie still and low my soul
Afresh the grain of love I will sow
Let the love bush re-grow
To still thee my soul
So still my soul
Ordained
To make your tears flow
And your spirit fall
To cause your anger to grow
And cry turn to wail
Your every minute a hell
Of nothing good to tell
A face scowl all day long
Tearful nights too long
Your every step a stumble
And every breath a gamble
Every thought of trouble
Every word a fumble
Every smell so foul
Every one a foe
Pain head to toe
As tears freely flow
Every day a burden
Of sorrows no end
Wish of death so sudden
This misery to end
Why did it have to be
Me of all that be
Your happiness not to see
A restrained heart not to free?
And your spirit fall
To cause your anger to grow
And cry turn to wail
Your every minute a hell
Of nothing good to tell
A face scowl all day long
Tearful nights too long
Your every step a stumble
And every breath a gamble
Every thought of trouble
Every word a fumble
Every smell so foul
Every one a foe
Pain head to toe
As tears freely flow
Every day a burden
Of sorrows no end
Wish of death so sudden
This misery to end
Why did it have to be
Me of all that be
Your happiness not to see
A restrained heart not to free?
Memories of Love
Memories make me want to cry
I just can’t tell why
When I relive the joy
The patches of love
So I send my love by the sky
To get to you by and by
To let you know why
My love is forever
I just can’t tell why
When I relive the joy
The patches of love
So I send my love by the sky
To get to you by and by
To let you know why
My love is forever
Tomorrow
Will it dawn any different
Will the pain crack my soul
And the sorrow drain my veins
Will my tears still flow
Or the pain subside
Will the quakes still shake
Shatter hills homes and hearts
Overturn the grounds
And swallow the poor souls
Will the rivers still flood
Waters drown
Smear the land red with blood
Flown faces
Rent out the skies with wails
From the bites of natures whales
Will the bombs still blast
Maim the children, claim the innocent
In pretence of democracy
What is right and human rights
Shots fill the air
Make deaf my years
And cut short their years
Will she lie among garbage
Wrapped in a polythene bag
Labeled unwanted
No wool to warm her tenderness
Drawing mercy from non alive
Maybe darkness and the canine
Will I at least smile
Or cry will crack my lips
Of hunger and thirst
Exhaustion and exploitation
Will my sweat be any sweeter
Not as bitter as yesterdays
Will I rise from the dream
Or the dream come true
Will it be any better
Or can I travel today
Go all the way
Where she stays
Will the pain crack my soul
And the sorrow drain my veins
Will my tears still flow
Or the pain subside
Will the quakes still shake
Shatter hills homes and hearts
Overturn the grounds
And swallow the poor souls

Saint Saddam
Warrior of Allah
Lion of Euphrates
Whose praise
Tigris Sing
Tortured and murdered
By the true tyrants
Branded a devil
By the devil himself
Now a saint
Till eternity
Sole soldier standing
As others prostrate
Out of faint hearts
To the statures of Babylon
Medal kingdom and crown awaits you
Victor of Allah
For you it’s no death
But simple eternisation
For ever you will breathe
Till the foe is vanquished
Long live the saint of Allah
Lion of Euphrates
Whose praise
Tigris Sing
Tortured and murdered
By the true tyrants
Branded a devil
By the devil himself
Now a saint
Till eternity
Sole soldier standing
As others prostrate
Out of faint hearts

Whispers
It happens to me too,
the voices and choices
are too much at times
and I need a quiet place
just me and the moon
or me and the sky
a place where I can hear God whisper
reminding me to breathe
asking me to 'hold on'
and when I hear this
I know everything will be O.K.
the voices and choices
are too much at times
and I need a quiet place
just me and the moon
or me and the sky
a place where I can hear God whisper
reminding me to breathe
asking me to 'hold on'
and when I hear this
I know everything will be O.K.
This I Pray
Lord help me live from day to day,
In such a humble sort of way,
To give a smile, help lift a load,
For those I meet along life's road,
And when I come to my journey's end,
My life I have not lived in vain,
If one dear friend can smile and say,
"I'm glad I met him on life's way.
In such a humble sort of way,
To give a smile, help lift a load,
For those I meet along life's road,
And when I come to my journey's end,
My life I have not lived in vain,
If one dear friend can smile and say,
"I'm glad I met him on life's way.

Another First Time
The smile
The warmth
The eyes
The voice
Everything felt like another first time

IN MY HEART
My thoughts so pure
And my feelings so sure
Though dear am insecure
Your pain I can endure
Your silence leaves anxious
And absence longingly nervous
The reasons sometimes obvious
But my heart’s yearning furious
Come into my weakness
Step into my carelessness
Claim and patent my wilderness
Savor my nakedness
With you I’ll never be the same
Neither shall I shy in shame
Fuel and fan the flame
Let love my heart consume
Let your call stir my soul
Feed my fantasies till night fall
Dream and desire and that’s my will
Rain or shine, you’re still my all
Go with me to our secret abode
Where pain and cold, but stories of old
The paradise in stories long told
Where lovers share a heart of gold
And my feelings so sure
Though dear am insecure
Your pain I can endure
Your silence leaves anxious
And absence longingly nervous
The reasons sometimes obvious
But my heart’s yearning furious
Come into my weakness
Step into my carelessness
Claim and patent my wilderness

She Called…
The long month came to an end
And as usual she called
She said she felt cold
And of the dark was afraid
My image couldn’t leave her mind
And of my voice, that she missed
She wondered if I were around
She had a few minutes to spend
Her lecture had bounced
And she was getting bored
The school site made her tired
And a break wasn’t too bad
The sem’ was getting old
And exams somewhere around
That’s why she seemed to hide
But a break she wouldn’t mind
Well, it’s with a friend!
To my place she would head
To watch one or two movies of old
My company was fun, she said
And ever good for the weekend
It’s the fun and adventure she liked
Beautiful as a morning undefiled
I’ve put her call on hold…
To call to level my head
Recall when she last called
And what my ears then heard
What went on to unfold
How the trap seemed concealed
With a smile I was tamed
And in a minute was fleeced
Nothing really has changed
To the same line she’s chained
A new twist she can’t even add
Apologetic I begged to sound
For now am a bit tied
May be around twenty third
There ain’t much work at hand
Thus more time to fool around
Then we can … the line went dead
May be the lecturer appeared…
And as usual she called
She said she felt cold
And of the dark was afraid
My image couldn’t leave her mind
And of my voice, that she missed
